US President Joe Biden’s family dog, Commander Biden, has bitten Secret Service officers at least 24 times in the White House and elsewhere. This was reported by CNN, referring to the documents of the US secret service at its disposal.
This number does not include other incidents in which the German Shepherd dog bit other White House employees.
According to the documents, the dog bite forced Secret Service agents to adjust their “operational tactics” in the presence of the dog. In addition, they were warned to “be creative to ensure their own safety”.
Months after these warnings, the dog was removed from the White House. According to US first lady Jill Biden’s communications director, the president and first lady have always been “concerned about the safety of White House employees.” Despite the additional training organized for the dog, work with specialists, Commander’s behavior has not changed. Now the shepherd dog, which the Bidens started keeping since 2021, lives with other family members.
