Record number of visitors at the traditional “spring walk” of the moving pharmacy in the Danube city with the active participation of district leader Nevrivy
Vienna (OTS) – Over 120 “Moving Pharmacy Participants” from all over Vienna showed their enthusiasm for Nordic Walking on Tuesday, April 16th and, despite unfriendly weather, started the 2024 Nordic Walking season together with Donaustadt district leader Ernst Nevrivy Vienna Health Promotion – WiG started. “The special thing about Nordic walking is that it is equally suitable for newcomers as well as passionate sports fans and can be easily integrated into everyday life, can be done almost anywhere and is also a very inexpensive sport. Through our implementation together with the pharmacies in Vienna, regular exercise also creates a joyful experience of community and neighborhood,” says the managing director of Vienna Health Promotion – WiG, Dennis Beck.
“Exercise is important for all of us – especially as we get older. It often helps to create the motivation for the first step together with others! I am very pleased that the “Bewegte Pharmacy” offer is available for our Donaustadt residents!” says the Donaustadt district head, Ernst Nevrivy, with conviction.
Free Nordic walking offer already in 46 pharmacies in Vienna
The “Moving Pharmacy” offer from Vienna Health Promotion – WiG is continually being expanded throughout Vienna. As part of the health reform, a state health promotion fund (LGFF) was set up by social security and the city of Vienna. The “Moving Pharmacy” project is financed from this. There are now 46 pharmacies in 21 districts that offer regular Nordic walking meetings. The goal is to encourage regular exercise in all districts in the near future. The idea of the project is as simple as it is effective: WiG, together with pharmacies in Vienna, offers their customers – but also anyone else interested in the respective district – an hour of joint Nordic walking once a week under the guidance of trained trainers at.
