Libya News 24 – Follow-ups
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp spoke about the period during which his Egyptian star Mohamed Salah will be absent from the team due to his participation in the African Cup of Nations.
Klopp said regarding Salah’s absence, in statements highlighted by the British “Liverpool Echo” network: “No… I did not think about it to be honest, and I cannot change it anyway.”
He added: “I have no real plans to compensate for Mohamed Salah’s absence. We are talking about January, right? “I hope Diogo will be back by then.”
He continued: “I haven’t thought about it yet.” Most likely, Salah will be available with us against Arsenal (next January 7) in the FA Cup. “I am not sure when the players will be allowed to leave officially.”
The Liverpool coach continued: “December is a really difficult month. You feel happy when you get through it, and then you start thinking about all the rest. “We can’t avoid it anyway.”
He concluded: “Whatever the case, what I can say is if the Egyptian national team decides that Mo must leave on the second, third, or fourth of January. “I am sure that Salah wants to play against Arsenal, but I am not sure we can make that decision.”
It is noteworthy that Salah’s participation in the African Cup of Nations “Alcan” means that he will definitely be absent from Liverpool’s trip to Bournemouth on January 21, and he may also be absent against Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley if Egypt advances in the tournament.
