Bank ‘0 dong’ decreased 2 times in 3 days

Bank interest rates today, March 7, only GPBank adjusted to reduce deposit interest rates. This “zero dong” bank has reduced interest rates twice in just 3 days.

Having just lowered deposit interest rates for terms of 6-9 months, this morning, March 7, Global Petroleum Commercial Bank Limited (GPBank) continued to simultaneously reduce terms by 0.3 percentage points from 1 -9 months.

According to the online deposit interest rate table, 1-month term reduces to 2.3%/year, 2-month term to 2.8%/year, 3-month term to 2.82%/year, 4-month term to 2.84%/year, 5 months 2.85%/year.

Similarly, the bank interest rate for 6-month term is 3.95%/year, 7-month term is 4.05%/year, 8-month term is 4.10%/year, and 9-month term is 4.2%/year.

GPBank maintains the online savings interest rate for 12-month terms at 4.65%/year and 13-36 months at 4.75%/year. This is also the highest deposit interest rate at GPBank at this time.

From the beginning of March 2024, 7 banks reduced deposit interest rates including: PGBank, BVBank, BaoViet Bank, GPBank, ACB, Agribank, VPBank.

Among them, BaoViet Bank and GPBank have reduced deposit interest rates twice since the beginning of the month.

In the market, last week’s interbank interest rates for overnight, 1-week, and 2-week terms decreased by 2.2% respectively; 1.88%; 1.54% to 1.46%; 1.71%; 1.72%. Interbank interest rates for short terms returned to average levels in February.

This shows that liquidity is less tense than the previous week. Meanwhile, the State Bank also withdrew a net of VND 6,038 billion after the amount of bills due last week reached VND 6,038 billion.
