The competition rages on at 28e edition of the Zone 7 Club Championship, and Madagascar shows its potential with remarkable performances from its teams. Yesterday, during the quarter-finals, the Gendarmerie Nationale de Volleyball (GNVB) club achieved a feat by winning in three sets (3-0) against the Faucon Flacq Camp Ithier VBC (FFC) from Mauritius. Led by coach Jean Honoré Razafinjatovo, the GNVB players dominated the match with determination and solidarity, winning the sets with scores of 25/15, 25/22 and 25/16. After the match, coach Noré highlighted the effort and preparation of his team, affirming that they were ready to go all the way to win the title, to the cheers of the Malagasy public. According to Commander Fortunat Rajaonarison, president of the club: “One of the advantages of the gendarmerie team is having talented young players. Within the gendarmerie, we value both sport and education, which is why we come together to support the club, particularly the technical aspect”.
For its part, Club Volleyball Farafangana (CVBF) encountered difficulties against St Denis Olympique Volleyball (SDO) from Reunion, losing in three sets (25/20, 25/11, 26/24 ). Despite a combative performance, the CVBF failed to overcome the challenges posed by the Reunion team.
Two hopes. Today, Madagascar will be in the spotlight again with two teams competing in the quarter-finals. The Club Omnisports des Forces Armées (Cosfa) will face the Mauritian team, Rodrigues Olympique Montagne Goyaves (OMG), while the GNVB ladies will face the City Ladies of Seychelles (CTL). The GNVB Dames are the only Malagasy team among the five entered to have managed to qualify for the quarter-finals, and they will be keen to defend the colors of Madagascar until the final, in the hope of winning the title at residence. These performances demonstrate the talent and determination of the Malagasy teams, who bring honor to their country and their sport. The competition continues with intensity, promising even more suspense and excitement in the coming days.
