News from Angola – The BAI Foundation and the Olindomar art studio signed on Wednesday in Luanda a memorandum of understanding for the sustainable development of Cartoon in the country.
The act falls within the scope of the Culture pillar of the BAI Foundation, whose purpose is to work towards the development and sustainability of Angolan arts and culture.
In a note that Notícias de Angola had access to today, it states that the ratification of the agreement between the two institutions includes the availability of the financial package to support the 19th edition of the Luanda Cartoon International Comics and Animation Festival.
LUANDA CARTOON is the event that annually brings together designers, cartoonists, illustrators and animators, amateur professionals and fans.
The success of Luanda Cartoon is reflected in the considerable public support and recognition of the respective brand.
The project arises from an initiative by artists who held some comic exhibitions in galleries in Luanda at the end of the 90s.
The movement attracted more practitioners and the need to share this art form with the world led to greater organization and promotion of more exhibitions.
The BAI Foundation presents itself as the social responsibility side of Banco Angolano de Investimentos and within its operating strategy it is linked to sustainable development objectives.
It encourages actions aimed at developing the topic, using citizenship education, raising awareness of discrimination and supporting scientific research, which has already impacted around 82,162 people (directly and indirectly).
