The management of Audi Brussels is looking at various scenarios for a successor to the current generation of the luxurious SUV model Q8 e-tron, which will be built in Brussels until 2027. This was reported by spokesperson Peter D’hoore of the car factory in Vorst. The spokesperson cannot confirm that the next generation of the Q8 e-tron will no longer be produced in Brussels, as the factory’s unions reported on Monday.

“The decision about the allocation of a model to a factory is made during so-called planning rounds. These take place at the end of the year. Production of the current Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback started in 2022. This model is therefore only just running and is only at the beginning of its life cycle. The capacity of our site is currently being well used,” says D’hoore.

The spokesperson added that “Audi is working in close collaboration with the VW Group to optimize the allocation of factories for the global production network, with a view to economic efficiency and employment.” “This of course also applies to Audi Brussels, which is a pioneer in the production of electric cars.”
