Three people, including a member of the Iranian Armed Forces (IRGC), were killed in an attack in Syria. Israel is suspected of the attack.
According to a report by IRNA News, the name of the IRGC member who was killed in the attack on the Syrian port city of Beniyas is Reza Zarei.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor confirmed reports of Friday’s (March 1) attack.
Three explosions rocked the center of Banias, Syria, on the Mediterranean coast, the agency said. There was a group associated with Iran.
The Britain-based Observatory said a building was destroyed in the attack and two other people who were with the IRGC member were not Syrian. Another source said that several people were injured in the attack.
However, Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack. Israel often targets Iranian installations in Syria.
Meanwhile, the death toll from Israeli forces firing on Palestinians waiting for food in Gaza has risen to 115. The attack was carried out last Thursday.
A team of the United Nations has found evidence of the dead as well as many injured in the incident. The acting director of Al-Awda Hospital said that the injured have been brought to the hospital.
