IN DECEMBER AND JANUARY
The turnover of accommodation and catering in the Prefecture of Ioannina reached almost 10 million during December and January, months characterized by strong four days.
The turnover is increased by 21% in December compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and by 27% in January compared to January 2023.
The total turnover for December in accommodation and catering amounted to 5.4 million euros and the turnover for January to 4.3 million.
Turnover also increased in the Prefectures of Arta and Thesprotia. On the contrary, it fell by 5% in the Prefecture of Preveza.
The figures were announced by Hellenic Statistics and as it appears in the businesses of the accommodation sector with the obligation to keep duplicate books, for which data are available on a monthly basis nationwide, the turnover in January 2024 amounted to 94.097 million euros, marking an increase of 11 .9% compared to the corresponding month last year, when it had reached 84.062 million euros.
As far as companies in the catering services sector, with the obligation to keep double-entry books, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in January 2024 climbed to 176.83 million euros, registering an increase of 10.4% compared to January 2023, when it was set at 160.125 million.
Cumulatively for businesses in the accommodation and catering services sectors, the turnover in January this year amounted to 270.927 million euros, marking an increase of 11% compared to January 2023, when it had reached 244.188 million euros.
