According to the manufacturer, Arman can detect 24 targets at a distance of 180km and simultaneously attack from 6 to 12 targets within a range of 120km. Additionally, Arman has a short-range self-protection system to defend against low-flying threats. Arman can be deployed and activated in a very short time, about 3 minutes, and the reaction time is less than 20 seconds.

The Arman anti-ballistic missile system has two variants, one equipped with an X-band PESA radar and the other equipped with an S-band AESA radar. The radars of this system are capable of tracking all aerial targets such as fighter jets, cruise missiles, attack helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and short-range ballistic missiles. The radars all have 360-degree coverage and a scanning range of up to 27km.

Arman is capable of firing Sayad-2 tactical missiles with a range of 70km and Sayad-3 missiles with a range of 120km. Thanks to the use of a vertical launch mechanism, the system’s reaction speed is not reduced when facing threats from all angles in a 360-degree space, outperforming other air defense systems with similar ranges. .

According to Iran’s official news agency (IRNA), the system’s debut will be in 2022 and the introduction of Arman anti-ballistic missile systems into service will help Iran’s air defense capabilities increase significantly in the coming years.
