Angolan film “Ar Condicionado” selected for the We Are One festival

The first Angolan feature-length fiction film, “Ar Condicionado” directed by Fradique, produced by Geração 80, is one of the films selected for the online festival “We Are One: A Global Film Festival”.

According to a note that NA had access to, the Tribeca Film Festival initiative in partnership with YouTube and other major international film festivals such as Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, Rotterdam, will be broadcast free of charge worldwide, through YouTube , from today (29) until June 7, 2020.

The festival will run for 10 days and can be seen at the link www.youtube.com/weareone, the premiere of “Ar Condicionado” will be on June 6th at 4:45 pm local time and will be available free of charge for a week. The festival’s programming will include feature and short fiction films, documentaries, music, comedy and debates.

At a time when the world is going through very difficult times, the festival will bring together films from various directors selected by curators, with the aim of providing relief and entertainment to people around the world at no cost, immersing the public in stories from around the world. and giving filmmakers a voice on a global stage.

During the festival, the public will be able to make donations to combat Covid-19, and all proceeds raised will be forwarded to the World Health Organization (WHO) and various institutions around the world.

Written, produced, filmed and edited entirely in Angola, the film “Ar Condicionado” was born from the urgency of making more fiction cinema in Angola, reaffirming GERAÇÃO 80’s commitment to independent author cinema and remembering that cinema in Angola is alive.
