The winners of the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards 2024
Vienna (OTS) – The winners of the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards have been chosen. A total of eleven artists and bands can look forward to an award, including three double awards. The award show on Friday evening in the Vienna Volkstheater was moderated by Nina Hochrainer and Philipp Hansa and accompanied by a variety of stage performances.
This year’s Amadeus Austrian Music Awards were eagerly awaited. Across all categories, 49 different artists and bands made it onto the shortlist, including 18 who were nominated for the first time. Now the winners were announced and honored as part of the Amadeus Awards show, which brought together artists and celebrities from the music industry.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award Hubert von Goisern. Accompanied by a standing ovation, the Federal President presented him Alexander Van der Bellen the golden Amadeus trophy.
Bibizathe frontrunner among the nominees, was recognized for the first time and with two awards: as songwriter of the year presented by AKM/ austromechana and in the best sound category presented by FAMA for his album “Wiener Schickeria”. Wanda won the Ö3 Song of the Year for “Bei Nobody Else” and in the Live Act of the Year category presented by oeticket. Also the Viennese rapper RAF Camora was able to win two categories: the hip hop/urban genre category and the coveted award for album of the year with “XV”.
Newcomers and established winners
The winners include some established artists as well as first-time award-winning artists. This is how the Salzburg DJ and music producer, who is also internationally known, can describe himself Toby Romeo be happy about an Amadeus in the Electronic/Dance category. Already a few weeks ago the band Bipolar Feminine from the Salzkammergut heard about their first win of the FM4 Award and now officially accepted the award. The Viennese band Leftovers also received an Amadeus for the first time in the Hard & Heavy category. The dialect pop group OUT of ORDERconsisting of Paul Pizzera, Christopher Seiler and Daniel Fellner, won in the pop/rock genre.
The trio My Ugly Clementine won in the alternative category for the third time and Melissa Naschenweng won the Schlager/Folk Music category for the fifth time. The cooperation of Molden, Seiler & the women’s orchestra arose from the two musicians getting to know each other at a past Amadeus awards ceremony – with their award with an Amadeus in the Jazz/World/Blues category, the circle has now come full circle.
A show full of highlights
The award ceremony in the Vienna Volkstheater was accompanied by a total of eight musical performances. The various solo and group performances showed a cross-section of the Austrian music landscape and created a great atmosphere in the hall.
