AMLO defends Rocío Nahle in the morning; “She is a person of integrity,” he says.

MEXICO CITY (apro).– President Andrés Manuel López Obrador came out in defense of his party’s candidate for the government of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle, whom he thanked for the construction of the Dos Bocas refinery, in Tabasco.

Although he did not mention Nahle’s name, nor that it is about the Veracruz elections, he made this reference:

“Take advantage, I’m not getting into the electoral issues… You know why, from the picture of the refineries, Dos Bocas, because there has been a whole mud campaign against a person, a whole dirty war promoted by very fine people whose last name I reserve,” he explained.

The federal president spoke favorably of his party’s candidate and former Energy Secretary of his government.

“But I just want to say that the person who is being unfairly accused of dishonest acts is a woman… well now… she is a person of integrity and thanks to that person and many others, thousands of technical workers, this was achieved.”

He showed the graph where a comparison is observed between several refineries in the world and the Olmeca, which was built in five years, with a budget of 16,816 million dollars, although its production has not yet started, which they project for this June.

“Thank you. Build a refinery to process 340 thousand barrels a day, we are talking about it going to produce 20 percent of all the gasoline consumed in our country, with a pandemic, with all the obstacles of the corrupt conservatives, facing everything, already in June it will to start producing,” he said.

The federal president continued with what he considered were the achievements of Nahle, who is accused of irregularities, acts of corruption regarding his properties and illicit enrichment.

“Five years, where you have never heard that our friends from the People’s Republic of China do things in days, in months, well here, with all due respect and due to the circumstances, I am forced to say that we beat them, as we beat them in the construction of the Mayan Train,” said López Obrador.
