Amjad Hossain, a former Bangladesh player, has been the Development Project Director of Maldives Handball for a long time. A few days ago, he took leave to coach the Ansar team in the national championship in Dhaka and he was successful.

In the 34th National Handball Championship today, Bangladesh Ansar defeated Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 33-25 to become the champion.

In the first half, there was a fierce fight between Ansar and BGB. BGB ended the first half with a lead of 17-16. But Ansar turned around after the break. At one point the two teams were even, but Ansar went ahead. In the end, BGB could not come back.

After winning the team title, Amjad is going to Maldives the day after Friday. He was happy to win the trophy before leaving, ‘I have a long relationship with Ansar. I took the annual leave on the occasion of the national championship. I was a bit unsure as the schedule changed. Finally managed to get coached and championed. I feel very good. I will happily go back to the Maldives this year.’
