Apart from this, smartphones are available to the customers at cheap rates with tremendous offers in these sites. Now a big revelation has been made in the investigation report of Competition Commission of India i.e. CCI regarding this. CCI has found in its investigation report that e-commerce sites Amazon and Flipkart are violating the rules. CCI will soon share its investigation report regarding this matter with all the parties. If these companies are found guilty then heavy penalties may be imposed on the companies.
Amazon and Flipkart broke the rules
According to the report of CNBC Awaaz, CCI had set up a DG inquiry on this matter, on which this revelation has come to light. Now CCI will share its report regarding this entire matter with all the parties. In this case, all the parties will get a chance to present their side during the hearing. If the companies are found guilty in the investigation, they will be penalized. CCI has been investigating this case for the last 4 years. CCI started its investigation in January 2020. Mobile Retailers Association had complained about these companies to CCI. The association had accused online companies of eliminating competition. The association alleged that the company was adopting unfair trade practices. According to the association, companies were giving huge discounts on mobiles and were giving the opportunity to sell only to selected sellers.
