Firas Al-Raymouni, director of the “Rituals” Theater Festival, confirmed that its 17th session, which will start next May 28 and continue until next June 1, will be named after the late artist Khaled Al-Tarifi, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in directing, acting and writing.

Al-Raymouni stated that the festival, which is organized annually by the “Rituals” theater group, includes 3 tracks in its next session, the first is the main “Eves,” the second is “The Evenings of Diodrama and Monodrama,” and the last is “The Evenings of Youth.”

He explained that the second and third tracks are being added for the first time this year in a new experience that attracts different types of plays, and pointed out that more than 20 Jordanian and Arab shows competed for the awards of the three tracks.

Al-Tarifi, who died on September 21 last year, is considered a brilliant theatrical artist, and to his credit there are plays that have achieved critical and public interest and won Arab and international awards.

It is worth noting that the Awal Theater had participated in this festival in 2022 with the play “Until Further Notice” written by Abdel Nasser Fathallah, directed and scenographed by Jamal Al-Ghaylan, and represented by Reem Wannous. The ghouls won the award for best lighting, and Wannous for best actress equally.
