The Israeli army announced on Friday that it had bombed a Hezbollah military headquarters in the Mansouri area and another headquarters in the Bint Jbeil area in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army said, “Yesterday (Thursday) we bombed Hezbollah military compounds in the Talusah and Majdal Zoun areas.”

He added in a statement, “After the bombing of the Majdal Zone area, secondary explosions were identified, which indicates the presence of a large number of weapons stored inside the complex.”

This comes at a time when the Israeli army is working to intensify its preparations for the possibility of carrying out a ground operation in Lebanon. On Friday, Israeli media revealed that Israel is preparing a plan for a possible ground operation in Lebanon, in the midst of the military escalation with Hezbollah that has been ongoing for months.

Israeli Channel 13 said that the army is “formulating a plan for ground entry into Lebanon.”

She added, “As part of preparations for the possibility of war in the north, the army assigned Brigadier General Moshe Tamir the responsibility of preparing several possible plans for a ground operation in Lebanon at different levels.”

It is noteworthy that Tamir was the one who formulated the plan for the Israeli army’s entry into Gaza, as he was asked to “draw lessons from the fighting in the Strip.”

Cross-border shelling between the Israeli army and Hezbollah has been recorded on an almost daily basis, since the outbreak of the war in Gaza between Israel on October 7th.

These developments raised fears of an expansion of the scope of the war in Gaza, amid regional and international efforts to stop mutual attacks.

The escalation resulted in the deaths of at least 302 people in Lebanon, the majority of whom were Hezbollah fighters, and 51 civilians, according to a tally compiled by Agence France-Presse.

In Israel, the army counted the deaths of 10 soldiers and 7 civilians.
