In its next session, the Shura Council intends to discuss Decree Law No. 14 of 2023 amending some provisions of Law No. 16 of 2014 regarding the protection of state information and documents.
The Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee indicated that the justifications for issuing the decree-law are the pressing and urgent need to complete the integrated framework to ensure the confidentiality of information and the protection of state documents, by providing sound governance for data management and protection, by collecting copies of all information and documents stored electronically in a national data center, All national databases classified, processed and stored in accordance with the law are linked to it; To ensure its confidentiality, preservation, and non-disclosure.
