The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, stressed that the stability of the Red Sea countries represents the basis of peace and international trade, noting that from this standpoint, the Somali federal government gives priority to cooperation and stability in the region.
This came in his speech during participation in the “Antalya Diplomatic Forum”, which began yesterday, Friday, and will continue for two days.
According to the Somali News Agency (SONA), the Somali President referred to the federal government’s vision of good neighborliness and cooperation based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, explaining that the Ethiopian government’s violation of Somalia’s unity and independence undermines international efforts to achieve stability in important corridors, including the Red Sea. Denying all the imaginary terms justified by the Ethiopian government in order to obtain the sea port.
He pointed out that the liberation of areas under the control of terrorists goes hand in hand with plans to promote good governance and enhance Somalia’s role in the region, which include joining the East African Community, lifting the arms embargo, and completing debt relief.
