The Chief Prosecutor of Ministries and Public Entities stated that the Minor Criminal Court issued its ruling convicting three defendants for violating the protection and safety requirements of the Civil Defense Law by fining them sums of money amounting to 300 dinars.

The Public Prosecution had received a report from the Protection and Safety Department of the General Administration of Civil Defense stating that, on the occasion of the administration’s periodic inspection visits to commercial establishments to verify their compliance with safety requirements and requirements for firefighting and alarm equipment, three commercial establishments had been seized that had failed to meet civil safety conditions, due to lack of maintenance. The Public Prosecution began its investigations immediately after receiving the reports, and ordered that the defendants responsible for the commercial establishments be referred to the Minor Criminal Court, which issued its previous rulings.

While the Chief Prosecutor stressed the priority of providing maximum protection and safety for commercial establishments, he called on the officials of those establishments to adhere to the requirements and safety standards set by the General Administration of Civil Defense in this regard, especially those related to providing firefighting means and early warning systems, which are established as a basic guarantee for the safety of individuals and property, in a way that achieves responsibility.
