The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health updated the “fees and exemptions” policy for visitors to primary care centers after reviewing all policies related to health service fees and exemptions.

The exemption updates stated that illegal residents who have a valid card, sons and daughters of a Kuwaiti woman married to a non-Kuwaiti, a non-Kuwaiti husband of a Kuwaiti woman, citizens of the Cooperation Council who hold a civil card or passport, scholarship students, residents of social care homes, and children under the age of 18 are exempted. A fee of 10 dinars will be collected from them, as well as non-Kuwaitis residing and registered in the health insurance system including: They include diplomats, for whom 2 dinars will be charged as service fees and 5 dinars for treatment fees, in addition to non-Kuwaiti visitors who are not registered in the health insurance system, for whom 10 dinars will be collected.

Domestic workers will also be charged a dinar, including all services and treatment. As for ministry workers, their spouses, and their children, they will be charged two dinars as service fees and five dinars as treatment fees, while they will be exempted from radiology and nuclear medicine fees only.

On the other hand, as part of the ongoing efforts to develop the administrative structure in the health institution, and modernize it in accordance with international best practices, the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, issued a decision to transfer the technical affiliation of the departments, units, and divisions of public relations and media in all health regions and central departments, to the Director of the Department Public Relations and Media.
