The celebration of Bahraini Press Day this year comes in light of the country’s national celebrations on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee and the 25th anniversary of His Majesty the King assuming the reins of power, and the freedoms enjoyed by the Bahraini press and the protection of the rights of journalists and media professionals, during the prosperous era of His Majesty, may God protect and preserve him.
The celebration of this day also coincides with the selection of “Manama as the Capital of Arab Media 2024” by the Council of Arab Information Ministers, under the slogan “Here is Bahrain”, to confirm the prestigious Arab and regional status that the press and national media have achieved in light of their commitment to authentic journalistic values that support and support freedom of the press. And expressing opinions, which enables her to exercise her role with complete openness.

In appreciation of the role of the press and journalists in supporting sustainable national achievements, and in pride in the unlimited professional contribution they provide, and the purposeful and constructive journalistic and media production, it is highlighted that distinguished members of the Bahraini journalistic and media family are celebrated and honored through the allocation of the (Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism), which is organized annually by the Ministry of Media, in cooperation with the Bahraini Journalists Association, to encourage and motivate journalistic cadres, including journalists, opinion writers, and creative people, to compete with each other to present their creativity and participate in the various sections of the award, to enrich the arts of journalism and its various forms, and to honor the efforts of journalists and creative media elites in performing their high humanitarian message.
The Ministry of Information, in partnership with the Bahraini Journalists Association, is keen to pay attention to training and qualifying young journalistic and media cadres to be able and qualified to complete the visions and goals of the comprehensive development process of His Majesty the King of the country, along with the Bahrain team.
