His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the country’s great king, may God protect and preserve him, received today, Thursday, at Sakhir Palace, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the personal representative of His Majesty the King, and His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King. For humanitarian work and youth affairs, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council, Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and a number of Their Excellencies and ministers, international musician André Rieu and a number of members of the Johann Strauss Orchestra, to greet His Majesty on the occasion of Their visit to the Kingdom, to hold a concert by international musician André Rieu at the Al Dana Theater.
His Majesty the King welcomed the artist André Rieu and his companions, and praised the successes he has achieved in his artistic career, his popularity and fame at the global level, his contributions to enriching world music, the distinguished musical and artistic works he presents, and his distinguished artistic talent in performance and playing. As one of the most prominent great musicians in the world, His Majesty wished him and his companions every success in their visit to Bahrain and in his artistic and musical works.
During the meeting, His Majesty stressed that cultural and artistic events bring together the world’s societies and peoples for greater communication and cooperation.

Today, Your Majesty’s support has confirmed our position in the region as a prominent destination where music in all its styles is appreciated and enjoyed. This year’s Spring of Culture program, with the support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, demonstrated that Bahrain is a platform that embraces popular, classical, modern and contemporary music, and harnesses the positive impact of music on society as a means of communicating with the world.
For his part; Musician André Rieu expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King for the welcome and hospitality he received, and his happiness at visiting the Kingdom and holding his concert for the second year in a row, wishing the people of Bahrain continued progress and progress.
