Representative Hamad Al-Kooheji stressed the importance of the speech delivered by the Minister of Two-Council Affairs, Ghanim Al-Buainain, in today’s House of Representatives session, which indicates the necessity of not tampering with legal terminology and altering it in a way that is inconsistent with constitutional principles and constitutes a clear violation of all basic concepts of justice in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as it affects the judicial authority. Stressing that the system of government enshrines the stable democratic principle of separation of the three authorities with cooperation between them in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, which provided guarantees of the independence of the judiciary.

He said that the sublime and comprehensive royal pardon for 1584 in riot and criminal cases, on the occasion of the silver jubilee of His Majesty assuming the reins of power, came to emphasize the protection of the social fabric within the framework of upholding the public interest, and the pardon came to take into account the principles of justice and the rule of law and considerations of preserving judicial independence and reconciling the punishment on the part of The humanitarian and social conditions of convicts on the other hand, and providing the opportunity for positive integration into society in a way that upholds the values ​​and standards of human rights, and in accordance with the approach of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its regional weight in this regard.

Al-Kooheji stated that Bahrain has come a long way in the field of protecting human rights and adopting international standards in applying human rights principles and values, in a way that achieves the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, on the human rights level, in addition to implementing the alternative amnesty system and the program. Open prisons and their distinction in the region and the world are steps that precede many countries, which take Bahrain as a model in this aspect.

Former MP Hamad Al-Kooheji stressed the importance of things proceeding in accordance with the framework of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bahrain and completely avoiding terminology foreign to society, such as immigrants, prisoners of conscience, political prisoners, and other names that were never among the terms referred to in Bahrain, and are not fundamentally compatible with the laws, and are not respected.
