Al-Hayad, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Arab Women’s Clubs Games, Talal Mansour, the famous Qatari runner and owner of remarkable achievements in the Mother of the Games and nicknamed the fastest man in Asia, and a large number of Arab Federation officials.

Yesterday, Thursday, five finals were held in the evening, after the preliminary stage that took place in the morning, where the Bahraini girls succeeded in grabbing 5 medals, two gold medals in the 100-meter hurdles and 10,000-meter running, and three silver medals in each of the 100-meter running and 1,000-meter running. Iraq won four medals, including a gold medal in the long jump, a silver and a bronze in the 100-meter hurdles, and a bronze in the 1,000-meter run.

In the long jump competition, Iraqi Maryam Abdel Hamid Abdel Elah won the gold medal with a jump of 5 meters and 33 centimetres, Egyptian Nour Abdo Abdel Hamid came in second place with a jump of 5 meters and 17 centimetres, and third place and the bronze medal went to Kuwaiti Aisha Walid Al-Khader with a jump that was limited to 5 meters and 15 centimetres.

The discus throwing competitions witnessed Libyan Rataj Salem Al-Sayeh clinching the gold medal with a new record in this competition after she threw the hammer to a distance of 50 meters and 17 centimeters, and Bahraini Nour Salem Jassim came second with a throw of 40 meters and 23 centimetres, and Kuwaiti Aisha Walid Al-Khater came in place. Third and bronze medal with a throw of 38 meters and 56 centimetres.

Major General Dr. Mohammed Al Murr, President of the UAE Athletics Federation, expressed his happiness with the level he saw on the first day of athletics competitions at the Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, pointing to the great development in numbers and the desire of all female competitors to be on the podium.
