Today, Monday, the Kingdom of Bahrain is preparing to present the play “Wajod” at the International Monodrama Festival held in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg from the first to the ninth of this month.
Bahrain, represented by Gilgamesh Theater, participates in the play (Wajod), which has won several international awards. The most recent of which was the Bronze Award at the Carthage International Festival.
The play was written by Dr. Kazem Munis. And scenography and direction by Mr. Jamal Al-Ghailan. And the performance and acting of the artist Reem Wanous; And the music of the artist Salem Al-Jarh; And Nadia Al-Mallah’s poems. And production director Mohsen Al-Haiki, while the translation into Russian was prepared by Alexandra Bazyak
The Gilgamesh delegation to Russia is headed by Professor Mohsen Al-Haiki, head of the Gilgamesh Theater.
On the other hand, the General Coordinator of the work, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Jaradi, said that attention is turning today to Saint Petersburg, Russia, to follow up on the great event in which the Kingdom of Bahrain is participating with all pride and dignity. While Professor Ali Al-Rumaihi described the participation of Bahrain and Gilgamesh as “an international cultural demonstration and the Kingdom’s overwhelming presence in this major international festival.”
It is expected that the play “Wojoud” will have a great impact during the Russian festival, just like the Carthage International Festival in Tunisia.
It is noteworthy that Gilgamesh’s participation in this international event is the launch of subsequent cultural and artistic projects that will be implemented successively during the current year.
