Within the framework of this working visit, the Secretary-General of the Arab Theater Authority and the accompanying delegation met with the Undersecretary of Culture in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, His Excellency Mr. Saeed bin Sultan Al-Busaidi. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Director-General of Arts in the Ministry, Mr. Ibrahim Bani Araba, the President of the Omani Theater Society, the artist Imad Al-Shanfari, and a number of concerned parties from both parties.
His Excellency the Undersecretary of Culture welcomed the Authority’s organization of its important festival in the Sultanate of Oman, which yearns for this embrace, praising the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation, Ruler of Sharjah, Supreme President of the Arab Theater Authority in serving culture in general and theater in particular.
The Secretary General of the Arab Theater Authority conveyed to His Excellency and to the Omani playwrights the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, as well as his generous blessing for organizing the 15th session of the festival in Muscat, where everyone will work to achieve a distinguished session worthy of the efforts and ambitions of the playwrights in the Sultanate, as well as achieving forward progress in the service of Arab theatre. His Excellency the Undersecretary of Culture expressed the readiness of the Ministry and officials in the Sultanate of Oman to provide all means to ensure the success of the festival and to be a jewel in holding its sessions.
It is worth noting that the Secretary-General of the Arab Theater Association and the accompanying delegation met with Mr. Ibrahim Bani Araba, Assistant Director-General of the Arts, and a group of assistants, in the presence of the President of the Omani Theater Society, where all the basic lines that will ensure the organization of a course that has its own character were discussed, where officials in Oman and playwrights join hands. The delegation of the Arab Theater Authority, accompanied by a working group from the Omani Theater Association, inspected the theatrical and hotel facilities and developed the basic features of the programs and work mechanisms to ensure the proper organization of this session, and the two sides held continuous meetings and in-depth consultations in this regard.
Secretary-General Ismail Abdullah stated at the conclusion of this visit, saying:
We have seen the high spirit, positivity, and great preparation from His Excellency the Undersecretary of Culture, the Assistant Director General of Arts, and the Board of Directors of the Omani Theater Society, which heralds that the fifteenth session in the Sultanate of Oman will be distinguished by the cultural and creative presence in Oman to take its rightful place in the Arab theatrical scene, and the Omanis are ready to present the best image of Oman. The Authority will also work to modernize and develop the festival’s work mechanisms, and all details will be announced within a short period. I am confident that Arab playwrights will present the gems of their creativity in an Arab country that contains treasures of arts, culture and beauty.
