Benghazi, October 24, 2023 (LANA) – Training for the Libyan junior volleyball team continues inside the “Suleiman Al-Darrat” complex in Benghazi, to prepare for participation in the African Championship, which will be organized in the city of Misrata in mid-December.

The Libyan News Agency (WAL) followed the training and friendly matches of the team with the Al-Nasr youth team and the head of the Libyan Volleyball Federation, Adnan Al-Bakbak, who said: In Algeria, we achieved first place in the Arab world, and this is our pride, and now we have these young men in front of us and we will not fail in their right, as they are our children who need care. There is great interest in them, and they lead them to the best. After this camp, each player will return to his city and his club, to continue his training, and we are currently looking for another city to receive the national team.

Al-Bakbak also explained that we must pay attention to the sports street, because it loves volleyball, and we, as an executive office, cannot consult with each club separately, and know its requirements, as we previously submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Sports to support sports clubs, and the Ministry has another vision, which is what is presented to the clubs. And not just for one game, but support for all games and the Premier and First Division clubs.
He added that the Executive Office held a meeting with the members, and we issued a decision to postpone the league until after the youth team participates in the next African Championship in the city of Misrata in December. We will discuss the circumstances that concern all clubs, and there will be a league, even if it consists of three teams.
The technical director of the Volleyball Federation, Wehbi Zoubi, told the agency, saying: There will be an external camp for the team, which may be in Tunisia, in preparation for the African Championship in December, which qualifies for the World Cup, the first in its history.

Director of the national teams, Khairy Doua, explained: The first camp for the national team was in the city of Misrata, and lasted for ten days, and then moved to Sfax, Tunisia, for a full week in which we played five matches, the most notable of which were with the Sfaxien club and the Transport Union club, and currently in the Benghazi camp, led by the Tunisian coach. “Moneim Ben Salem,” and we consider him successful, and at the beginning of December, (14) players will be ready for the African Championship in Misrata.
