The Greek pensioners are the oldest in Europe, with our country holding the sad “first place” with the highest general retirement limits for men and women among all EU countries, as can be seen from the official data of the information system of IDIKA SA “ILIOS” ( January 2024) of the Ministry of Labour. According to the same official data, 91.62% of pensioners (2,275,637) are over 60 years old, while 81.41% of pensioners (2,022,069) are over 65 years old. Only 4.34% (107,824) are under 55 (widows – orphans).
