The High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) No. 71 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Torreón achieved an organ procurement and donation that consisted of two kidneys, thanks to which the quality of life of the same number of patients will improve from this same hospital.
The donor was Mr. Juan, a 66-year-old man who suffered a cerebral hemorrhagic event; After his death, the diagnosis was made on Thursday night, and it was determined that he was a candidate to donate organs, which was achieved thanks to the will and altruism of his daughters, who, in a brave gesture in the midst of their pain, They authorized doctors to procure their organs to help other patients who are fighting for their lives.
“On behalf of the Organs and Tissues coordination of Clínica 71, we want to extend our most sincere condolences for the loss of Don Juan, who even after his death continues to do good for others,” said the hospital coordinator of Donation of Organs. Organs and Tissues for Transplant Purposes at the UMAE, Dr. Hugo Ruiz Serna.
For this gift of life, a ceremony was held at the Specialty Hospital known as the honor fence, where a tribute is paid to the donor. “Having made these magnanimous gifts, we hope that your grief will be a little easier to bear,” the doctor added. Mr. Juan was fired amid applause and with the phrase “God bless you eternally,” by one of his relatives.
In Mexico, there are thousands of people with chronic diseases who are registered in the National Transplant Registry, waiting for an organ or tissue, which can only be obtained through a donation.

With great generosity, his wife agreed to donate two kidneys and two corneas to four patients who were fighting for his life.
