He Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalveannounced that Venezuela accepted a flight for the process expulsions of 150 citizens of that nation.

“Yesterday we received a response through diplomatic channels from the Ministry of Relations of the Government of Venezuela, accepting a flight for the expulsion process. during the first week of May”said the undersecretary.

He explained that “we have made an initial request for authorization to expel 150 citizens.” In turn, he reported that he hopes to be able to discuss the “flight plans” today.

“Charter flights normally have capacity for 60, that is why we want to agree on a flight plan, which has an itinerary, has a date, so that we can agree and coordinate all the necessary actions,” Monsalve explained.

Furthermore, he added that “there are two matters in which we must advance. If there is a person who commits a crime in Chile, who does not have a prison sentence,” he exemplified that “recently, people who are detained by the police for committing a crime abroad in an irregular situation, not registered, whose crime has no prison sentence, they are free.” These people, according to Monsalve, have to “be expelled.”

“The second thing, those people who are in an irregular situation in Chile and who are not registered, once they are reported to begin the expulsion processes, the State has to have control tools,” he concluded.
