Egyptian star Mohamed Salah expressed his happiness at leading his Liverpool team to victory over its host Crystal Palace 2-1 yesterday, Saturday, in the 16th round of the English Premier League.

Crystal Palace was the first to open the scoring in the 57th minute through John Matita, before Salah equalized for Liverpool in the 76th minute.

Salah also appeared in the 90th minute, setting up Liverpool’s second goal, which was scored by his teammate Harvey Elliott.

After scoring against Crystal Palace, Salah reached the 200th goal with Liverpool in all competitions, and the 150th in the English Premier League, climbing to tenth place in the competition’s top scorers throughout its history.

Salah became the first African player to score 150 goals in the English Premier League and the first non-British player to score 200 goals with Liverpool in all competitions.

Regarding these records, Salah said in television statements after the match with Crystal Palace: “The most important thing is that we won the match. It is a great feeling.. I am happy with the record and the victory.”

Regarding his young colleague Harvey Elliott, who scored the winning goal, Salah said: “He is a good boy.. He is learning.. I would like to push him more in the gym. He will have a good career.”

Regarding the similarities between the current Liverpool team and the one that won the league title in the 2019-2020 season, the Egyptian star replied: “I see the mentality of continuing the fight until the end.”
