A vehicle carried away 5 people in Piraeus: a 5-year-old boy was intubated

A serious traffic accident occurred around 23:00 on Holy Wednesday in Piraeus on the way to Athens, at the height of Jumbo in Piraeus.

It all started when a passing vehicle ran over five people, including three children. The 36-year-old driver pulled over two women aged 53 and 33, who at that moment tried to cross the road.

As for the three children, they are a ten-year-old boy, an eight-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy. The latter is seriously injured from the traffic accident that happened at the height of the commercial park in Renti and was given CPR during his transport to the hospital.

At first the 4-year-old boy was transferred to Tzanio, where he was intubated and then transferred to the Agia Sofia Children’s Hospital. The other two minors were also taken to the same hospital, while the two adult women are hospitalized out of danger at the Red Cross.

According to the first information, the driver of the car that took the five people away claims that he did not see them. He was also arrested and is being held at the Piraeus Traffic Police, which has taken over the preliminary investigation for the traffic accident.

It is noted that the circumstances under which the accident took place are currently unknown.
