Recently, the issue of supplying artificial eggs from China to Russia has been actively discussed. Artificial eggs contain calcium carbonate, potassium carbonate, potassium alginate, paraffin, gypsum, citric acid, gelatin, alum, calcium chloride, benzoic acid, food coloring and other components.

Publika.az reports that nutritionist Polina Juravleva explained whether artificial eggs are harmful or not.

“It all depends on what they are made of. Artificial eggs, unlike natural eggs, are usually plant-based products such as soy protein or other plant-based ingredients. The ones I’ve heard about before are not at all dangerous and in some cases healthier than regular eggs. Of course, if you use them in a certain amount”, he explained in an interview to “osnmedia.ru”.

According to him, it was even possible to eat such eggs, but they were made from banana flour, peas, starch and other natural ingredients, not from sorbates and other chemicals.

“I doubt that eggs from China will not be full of harmful preservatives or flavor enhancers in addition to what is mentioned. If this is mass production and will be stored for a long time, they should be abandoned. In any case, you can’t eat too many eggs with such chemical diversity and you don’t need them,” the expert noted.

He also emphasized that if artificial eggs, as produced in the Russian Federation, consist of completely natural ingredients, they can be an alternative for those who have allergic reactions to natural eggs and components. The expert emphasized that it is not useful to eat natural eggs too often.

He also concluded by recommending limiting the amount of processed foods you eat, including artificial eggs.
