In addition to the Gaza Strip, a new hot spot can be seen in the Balkans on the world map.
Publika.az reports that this was said by Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy of Russia’s permanent representative to the UN.
According to the deputy permanent representative, the conflict in the Balkans could flare up due to the actions of the self-proclaimed government of Kosovo against the Serbs:
“Unfortunately, another hot spot in Gaza, where Israel is trying with all its might to push the Palestinians out, may be added in the near future – like the terrible ethnic cleansing of ethnic Serbs in the Balkans, where the Kosovo authorities are acting in a similar way.”
Polyanski stressed that currently in Kosovo and Metohija there is a policy “that gives rise to cold associations with real ethnic cleansing”, but Western countries, unfortunately, do not notice this.
The diplomat said that Moscow calls on other members of the UN Security Council (SC) to “take urgent measures to protect Kosovo Serbs and demand from Pristina an end to the persecution against them, including the cancellation of all discriminatory measures.” The Russian leadership is sure that the only way to resolve this conflict is through the development of a lasting mutually acceptable international legal solution between Belgrade and Pristina on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution No. 1244.
