The 2023 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix won the Innovation Award during the Formula One Championship Awards Ceremony for the circuits that host its rounds. The ceremony was held in the British capital, London, and honors the major achievements achieved by Formula One circuits around the world, as Bahrain received the Award A number of pioneering innovations have been introduced over the past twelve months, including major sustainability initiatives as well as technological developments in areas including race control and traffic management.

Upon announcing the victory of the 2023 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, the jury was evaluated after the race adopted a number of key innovations in the circuit. Bahrain International, including:

• Leading solar energy production facility at the Bahrain International Circuit: In its first year of operation, the solar energy facility at the Bahrain International Circuit produced more than 5 million kilowatt-hours of energy, which is enough renewable energy to cover all Formula One uses with significant reserve capacity, i.e. Equivalent to offsetting 3,108 tons of carbon.
