Publika.az informs that during the meeting the commissions agreed on the following:

• In the initial stage of the delimitation process, separate parts of the border line of the Parties are Baganis (ER) – Baganis Ayrim (AR), Voskepar (ER) – Ashagi Eskipara (AR), Kirants, according to the legally justified inter-republican border that existed within the Soviet Union at the time of its collapse. (ER) – Khairimli (AR) and Berkaber (ER) – Kizilhajili (AR) settlements have agreed to pass directly.

• It was decided that the descriptive coordinates of these parts of the border line should be drawn up taking into account their accuracy based on geodetic measurements on the ground, and this should be documented and signed by the Parties by the relevant Protocol-description by May 15, 2024.

• It is agreed that the Parties will apply to their governments to take measures for the simultaneous and parallel deployment of their border services on the agreed parts of the border line. It was also agreed that until the delimitation process is fully completed, the parts of the border line specified in the Protocol-description shall be considered delimited.

• At the same time, completion of the work on the approval of the draft Regulation on the joint activities of the State Commission on the delimitation of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on the delimitation of the state border and border security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan by July 1, 2024, and intra-state it was agreed to start the approval of the Regulation in accordance with the process of negotiations and the requirements of the legislation of the States of the Parties.

• The parties agreed that they will be based on the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991 in the delimitation process. The parties also agreed to establish that basic principle in the draft Statute (if in the future the Agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia decides otherwise, then the relevant paragraph of the Statute will be adapted to the principles defined by this Agreement).

• After approving the Regulation, the parties agreed to agree on the rotation and continue the delimitation process on all other parts of the border, including enclave and exclave issues.

A protocol was signed as a result of the meeting. It was decided to agree on the date and place of the next meeting.
