A highway robber shot dead by the police

Last Saturday, a serious event shook the relative tranquility of the rural commune of Fihaonana Tsiroanomandidy.

Law enforcement officers managed to kill a notorious bandit, known as Dally, during a clash that took place in the Ankaditapaka fokontany.

Dally, a dangerous highwayman, had long been in the crosshairs of the authorities for his criminal activities. Responsible for repeated attacks on bush taxis and trucks in the region, he had become a serious threat to the safety of residents and travelers in this remote area.

The operation aimed at putting an end to Dally’s actions was triggered following valuable information received by the gendarmerie indicating his presence in the town of Tsiroanomandidy. Aware of the imminence of danger, the gendarmes quickly mobilized to track down the bandit and his accomplices.

On Saturday night, around 10 p.m., the police were informed of the intentions of the dahalo to ambush Maharavoandirana Fihaonana. Determined to put an end to the criminal activities of Dally and his gang, the authorities responded quickly.

An exchange of fire quickly broke out between the gendarmes and the bandits, and it was in this violent confrontation that Dally was struck by a fatal bullet. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he did not survive his injuries.

During the search, the police discovered a homemade 12 caliber rifle. However, his accomplices managed to escape, and the authorities are actively continuing their search to apprehend them. Nevertheless, the authorities remain vigilant, aware that the hunt for Dally’s accomplices is far from over.
