Al-Ahly of Egypt suffered a loss at the hands of its host, Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa, with a score of 1-0, today, Sunday, in the first leg of the African League semi-finals.

The goal was scored by player Thabelo Maseko in the 53rd minute of the match, amid Ahly’s objections to Beninese referee Louis Hongnanande, who officiated the match after demands to award a penalty kick to Al-Ahly after Percy Tau fell.

The two teams will meet next Wednesday at Cairo Stadium in the second leg of the semi-finals of the tournament to decide the qualification ticket for the final of the African League in its first edition.

Al-Ahly started with offensive activity on the left front through Reda Selim, and Al-Ahly got a foul sent by Maaloul and was dispersed by the Sun Downs defense, then a powerful shot from Afsha was caught by goalkeeper Williams.
