A 37-year-old businessman in Russia’s Lesnoy region (Sverdlovsk) was caught stealing 3.2 million rubles during the implementation of the national project “Housing and Urban Environment”, which includes the reconstruction of the park.

Publika.az reports that “Ura.ru” was informed about this by the press service of the prosecutor’s office. The criminal case was sent to the court.

“In May 2019, an agreement was signed between the MKU Main Construction Department and “Stroysvyaz” LLC for the reconstruction of the park. In order to steal budget funds, the defendants prepared fake documents on the cost of playground equipment and gave those documents to the representatives of the CIA, including a document on the supply of more than 5 million pieces of equipment. During the audit, an agreement was reached between “Stroysvyaz” LLC and the production company, according to which the cost of 11 pieces of equipment for the playground, including delivery services, was more than 1.7 million,” the information said.

With his machinations, the businessman stole 3.2 million, but when he was caught, the accused voluntarily paid the full damage to the city. “The criminal case has been sent to the Lesnoy City Court for consideration on its merits,” the department said.
