900,000 dollars for their printing

Arrival of unique bulletins in Ivato.

The CENI received, the day before yesterday, the sensitive ballots (single ballots), the minutes, the counting sheets as well as the tamper-proof envelopes which will be used during the elections of deputies on May 29. According to the explanations of the president of the CENI, Dama Arsène Andrianarisedo “These sensitive bulletins will arrive on time in the 120 districts of the country. Their delivery will begin on May 10”. Note that 337 pallets will be distributed across the different districts of the Big Island. It thus turns out that the printing cost $900,000 and was financed by the European Union, while its delivery, under the responsibility of the Malagasy government, amounts to $270,000. The total number of these unique ballots is 12 million, which corresponds to the number of voters. Still, the president of the CENI stressed that with the opening of the electoral campaign, it is necessary to respect the laws in force and “Soatoavina Malagasy”.
