In the early hours of Friday, June 28, a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.0 with epicenter at 54 km southwest of Yauca, in Caravelí (Arequipa), caused significant damage in that area. The tremor was also felt with intensity throughout the Ica regionresulting in More than ten people injured and houses that collapsed.
The Regional Health Directorate of Ica reported on the effects of the earthquake in each local area. A total of 1,000 people were reported 18 people injured in the provinces of Ica and Nazcawith fractures, cuts, bruises and other types of injuries, including minors.
