Saudi Arabian police have so far arrested 4,000 worshipers from the Kaaba for negative behavior during the holy month of Ramadan. Along with this, the local administration has identified and closed 35 institutions for cheating foreigners with fake offers of Umrah.
In a report on Sunday (March 31), Gulf News, a Middle East-based media outlet, said that the Saudi administration has taken initiatives to ensure that worshipers can worship in the Kaaba without interruption and with adequate security. As part of that, these 4,000 people have been arrested.
The number of worshipers at the Kaaba is greater during Ramadan than at any other time of the year. In particular, the last 10 days of Ramadan are the busiest, as many people plan to perform Umrah during this time.
However, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has given some instructions to reduce the crowd of pilgrims. In a directive from the ministry, instead of coming to the Kaaba, it is urged to pray in the designated prayer rooms in the respective hotels. Earlier, to reduce the crowd, Saudi Arabia decided to allow a Muslim to perform Umrah only once this Ramadan.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabian authorities are making no effort to keep the Grand Mosque of Makkah clean during the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan. Due to the huge increase in the number of pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims, the holy mosque is being cleaned 10 times a day to keep it sterile. And more than four thousand workers are working day and night.
