30 thousand evacuees who returned to their homes received return grants from the National Insurance

The grants were paid to 30,000 eligible persons: the National Insurance Agency transferred return grants of approximately 600 million shekels to citizens who were evacuated from their homes and returned to localities that the state defined as approved for return.

The grants are divided into two types:

  • Daily return grant – For those who returned between January 1 and February 29 to a settlement that the government decided it was possible to return to gradually, and the state did not finance accommodation for him. Entitlement to the grant is daily, for each day that the eligibility conditions are met. An adult is entitled to NIS 200 per day, and a child up to the age of 18 to NIS 100 per day.
  • One-time return grant – For those who ended their stay in a state-funded accommodation between March 1 and June 1. Those entitled to the grant are residents of Israel who were evacuated from their homes, and the amount is determined according to the date of termination of the stay in the state-funded accommodation, and the number of children for whom child allowance is paid.

Those who did not stay at the hotel will be entitled to a grant if they were entitled to a daily return grant or an occupancy grant, and the amount of the grant will be NIS 15,360 for an adult and NIS 7,680 for a child.

For those who stopped staying at the hotel, the amount of the grant for them will be determined according to the date on which they stopped staying at the hotel, as stipulated in the government decision:
Until March 17 – NIS 15,360 for an adult and NIS 7,680 for a child up to the age of 18
From March 18 to April 1 – NIS 7,680 for an adult and NIS 3,840 for a child up to the age of 18
From April 2 to May 1 – NIS 3,840 for an adult and NIS 1,920 for a child up to the age of 18
From May 2 to June 1 – NIS 1,920 for an adult and NIS 960 for a child up to the age of 18.

Yoav Ben Tzur, Minister of Labor: “I am proud and happy that the National Insurance was able to meet the goal we set – payment to all those eligible in the evacuated settlements before Passover. We know that the complexity and difficulty are unusual, but in everything we can help – we will be there. This is a public mission and we will continue to do so.”
