2 drug addicts jailed in mobile court operation – 2024-03-07 07:40:10

Two drug addicts of Feni who were caught red-handed with drugs were sentenced to prison by the mobile court.

On Tuesday (March 5) afternoon raids were conducted at Daganbhuanya and Chagalnaya in the district and they were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment.

Mobile court sources said that the task force led by Daganbhuna Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Feni Nivedita Chakma and District Narcotics Control Directorate Inspector Mozammel Haque conducted a separate anti-narcotics operation at a place called Khejur Gachtala in Alaiyarpur village.

Meanwhile, Abul Bashar Rajeev (33), son of Abu Taher of the village, was arrested with 100 grams of ganja. Mobile court judge Nivedita Chakma sentenced Rajeev to 10 days without labor.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, an anti-narcotics task force under the leadership of Chagalnaya Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Saiful Islam Kamal and Narcotics Control Department Sub-Inspector Abu Taher conducted an operation in Chaigharia village of the upazila.

Meanwhile, Nazrul Islam Bashir (33), son of Amir Hossain of Shikari Bari, was arrested with liquor. Mobile court judge Saiful Islam Kamal sentenced drug addict Bashir to seven days imprisonment.

District Narcotics Control Directorate Inspector Mozammel Haque confirmed the information about the operation and imprisonment and said that the operation against drugs will continue.
