Nineteen coaches, representing 7 regional leagues, underwent training to obtain the IHF D License over five days, from April 24 to 28, in Mahamasina. The International Handball Federation (IHF), in collaboration with the African Handball Confederation (CAHB), sent expert Alain Dessertene to lead the course. At the end of the training, 15 coaches obtained their IHF License D diploma, while the other four will have an opportunity to retake the exam. Among the 15 graduates, two of them will have to undergo additional training to obtain the C license, in Cairo, Egypt in June, in order to be able to supervise the Akio national team during the African youth, cadet and junior championships. Meanwhile, eight technicians should obtain the A license to be able to coach the Akio Senior ladies for the African Cup of Nations (CAN). “ We are satisfied with this training. 15 of the 19 coaches obtained their D license diploma, which testifies to the success of this training session. This also meets the criteria established by the IHF and CAHB since last year. Our objective is to raise and improve the level of coaches in Madagascar in order to be able to compete at the international level, whether in international competitions or in the professionalization of coaches. “, declared Regina Clarisse Raheriarijaona, president of the FMHB. It should be noted that License D allows you to supervise the national team during the Challenge Trophy in the zones and continental, License C for the youth CANs and License A for the Senior CANs.
