In total, more than 116 thousand women of fertile age from 15 to 49 years live in the North Kazakhstan region. 2,880 women are registered at the dispensary for pregnancy. Of these, 52% suffer from various extra genital pathologies, and for 25 women pregnancy is completely contraindicated, Liter.kz reports with reference to Petropavlovsk.news.
According to the chief freelance obstetrician-gynecologist of the regional health department, Elena Kalyuzhnaya, currently 25 pregnant women with a high risk of miscarriage are being monitored at the perinatal center. The birth is planned at the fourth level of regionalization at the Center for Maternity and Childhood in Astana.
“Last year we gave birth to 40 of these women. Almost everyone gave birth in Astana. We also monitor them in the postpartum period and advise them, including on contraception,” Elena Kalyuzhnaya said at a briefing in Petropavlovsk.
She noted that four percent of teenage girls suffer from severe extragenital pathologies. All of them are registered.
“We pay great attention to explaining the dangers of early pregnancy. We conduct conversations and even provide contraceptives for free in youth centers. Unfortunately, this year four teenage girls have already had a medical abortion,” the doctor commented.
According to her data, teenagers had 14 abortions last year. One of them was carried out on a 13-year-old girl; another girl her age became a mother.
In total, there are 18 family planning offices in the region, that is, at each clinic. Any woman can go there for free to get advice, and some will even be given contraceptives.
Great emphasis is placed on prevention. Psychological services have been created in schools. There is also an anonymous helpline in the region at 8-800-080-81-50. In five months, 114 people contacted him.
