He gets angry when he sees strangers. Makes a roaring sound like a tiger. So the name ‘Bagha’ is named after the tiger. But very quiet in front of the owner. Bilkis and Farooq couple of Shariatpur have made this bull named ‘Bagha’ suitable for sale as a sacrifice with utmost care and love like their own child for the last one and a half years. The price of approximately 20 maunds of tigers is 10 lakh taka.
It is known on the ground that the bull named ‘Bagha’ is being reared in the house of Farooq Dhali, a tree-cutting worker in Dhanuka area of Ward No. 7 of Shariatpur municipality. His wife Bilquis Begum came across the bull while visiting Nand Asma Begum’s house a year and a half ago. He was only one and a half years old then. Swami told Farooq Dhali about bringing up the bull in his mind. Later Farooq Dhali bought the bull for one and a half lakh taka and brought it home. After that everyone in the family started raising the bull with utmost care and love.
It is named ‘Bagha’ because of its somewhat sharp shape and temperament. His daily diet consists of five kilograms of wheat husk, one load of raw grass, seven kilograms of hay and four bushels of native bananas. The height of a naturally reared tiger is 7 feet. Length 8 feet and weight at least 20 maunds. People from the neighborhood are constantly gathering at Farooq Dhali’s house to see the huge tiger.
Farooq Dhali’s wife Bilkis Begum told Jago News, ‘I brought up Bagha like my own child. When the current goes off, he realizes and calls me. I immediately bathe him, wipe his body. He jumps whenever he sees other people but when I go he stays very calm. Just as people work hard to make sacrifices, so I will sacrifice them in the name of Allah. If Allah keeps Taufi then I will fulfill my child’s wish by selling the tiger.’
A local resident named Jamal Dhali said, ‘When the bull is brought out, at least six men and four thick ropes are needed. Excited like a tiger. The bull is very big.’
Another youth named Bulbul Ahmed said, ‘I have grown up seeing many cows since childhood. However, such a big bull like Farooq Kakar’s tiger has not been seen before. This is the biggest bull I have ever seen.’
Talked with the owner of the bull Farooq Dhali. He said, ‘Bagha’ is one of my family. The team does not feed him outside food except grass and hay. I thought of selling it last year. Then its price was said to be 3 lakh 80 thousand taka. As the Indian cow did not come this year, it seems that the tiger will get a fair price.
