Zelensky: If we don’t act now, Putin will make the next years disastrous – 2024-02-18 14:11:58

“If we don’t act now, Putin will succeed in turning the next few years into a catastrophe,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during his speech at the Munich Security Conference.

“Unfortunately, keeping Ukraine in an artificial deficit of weapons, especially artillery and long-range weapons, allows Putin to adapt to the current intensity of the war,” he pointed out.

The Ukrainian president made a reference to the devastated eastern town of Avdeevka, from where Ukrainian troops withdrew, and explained that this was because Ukraine was facing an acute shortage of ammunition.

“Don’t ask Ukraine when the war will end. Ask yourself why Putin is still able to continue it,” Zelensky said.

Ukraine is hoping to get a vote on a key US aid package worth about $60 billion, but its approval has been blocked by Republicans.
