A young man named Rubel died in the thrashing for attempted rape of a child. The incident took place in Rajnagar village of Shimulkandi union in Bhairab of Kishoreganj on Saturday (May 25) afternoon.
According to local sources, on Saturday afternoon, the youth named Rubel Miar went to work as a sweeper near Zahir Miar’s house in Rajnagar. The man is a wanderer. Around noon, Zaheer tried to rape an 8-year-old girl child with the jungle near Mia’s house. When the child screamed, the locals came and beat up the young man. When Rubel was seriously injured in the beating, he was taken to the Upazila Health Complex. He died while undergoing treatment there.
In this regard, Bhairab Upazila Health Complex official Bulbul Ahmed said that a man named Zaheer Miar brought the young man to the hospital when he was injured in the thrashing. The man died within an hour of being admitted with first aid. Later, Zaheer Mia ran away from the hospital. Bhairav informed the police and they came and took away the body.
Shimulkandi Union Chairman. Mizanur Rahman Bhuiya Ripon said that the man tried to rape the niece of Zahir Miar of Rajnagar village. People found out and beat him up.
Bhairab Police Station Superintendent SI Lutfur Rahman said that he came to the hospital after receiving the news. A man named Zaheer Mia brought him to the hospital and admitted him. He is absconding.
